Who runs the Farm?
Erica Albrecht is a native of Union Vale. She is the owner and sole instructor at Pond View Farm. She began riding at the age of seven. Erica had the distinction of working for Franklin D. Roosevelt, Jr. for more than five years in the early 1980's on his local farm. During that time, she cared for his six pleasure horses--activities included riding, driving and breaking two yearlings.
Erica graduated in 1990 from the Westmoreland Davis Equestrian Institute in Leesburg, Virginia. The Institute is world renown for its emphasis on not only graduating outstanding riding instructors, but for developing true horsemanship that leads to the effective partnership with horses.
Erica has continued to develop her skills and knowledge by attending clinics and workshops on a variety of horse-related topics. She has competed her horses at the local level for more than 30 years and currently enjoys taking her advanced students on hunter paces.
For more than 30 years, Erica has enjoyed sharing her lifelong passion with students of all ages. She believes the atmosphere at Pond View Farm leaves her students with friendships that will last a lifetime.
Erica lives on the Farm with her partner, Bob, plus 8 horses and 4 dogs.
